I have a legal copy of SC/SCBW. I want to be able to run it off my iPod (which is enabled for disk use, so it functions as a 120GB flash drive) while at school -- preferably without the CD and with the latest patch.

StarCraft does not need to be registered/installed to run. But you have to copy a folder where it's been installed to.

Occasionally I make a mistake and break the map, but I usually am able to fix it by restoring the previous version and rebuilding from there. Not the most fun thing to do, but in my case, I'm mostly editing triggers, so I just copy and paste the triggers from trigedit of the current version into the previous version and skip ahead a version past the current version and save again.
