If the SLIC table is missing or corrupted, reinstalling should have no effect, unless the media is no longer OEM or the OEM specific pieces are missing, but in that case the SLIC table and Windows Marker should be valid. I have seen reports where BIOS updates have changed the SLIC table, reverting back to older version of the BIOS have resolved the issue. Does the MGADIAG report the SLIC table is corrupt or this just the error message that the customer is seeing? If it's just the error message then yes there can be other issues, should be rare however, but the output should tell us if there is an issue with the firmware. We had this same problem with a P5GCMX-1333 Asus motherboard and a BIOS update fixed it. I recommend using Rufus to create a bootable Freedos USB flash drive and copy the new bios rom file along with the manufacturer's recommended bios flashing program and flash the bios. Make sure you have a reliable source of power or a U.P.S. And or a Fully charged Battery when flashing the bios so you don't brick your device and also remember to enter the bios after flashing it and set it to default settings and save.
